1. Job Description
The Mechanical Engineering Department at the College of Engineering, Gulf University is seeking to recruit enthusiastic full-time academic position at the lecturer rank in the general area of Mechanical Engineering. Successful candidates will be expected to teach a variety of courses to undergraduate students in the classroom and laboratory settings in different mechanical topics, including but not limited to strength of material, static, dynamic and theory of machines. Candidates are expected to develop strong collaborative, innovative and multi-disciplinary research activities, and to contribute to the delivery, strengthening and development of teaching in engineering. Postholders will be expected to have a broad knowledge of a range of topics in mechanical engineering discipline. Programs will be delivered in English and so fluency in English is essential.
2. Qualifications Required:
- Master degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university is required.
- A minimum of three years of experience in teaching different courses in the general area of mechanical engineering.
- Experience in developing course specifications as per the national qualification framework and international accreditation standards.
- Relevant industrial experience in the general area of    mechanical engineering.
3. Further qualifications:
- Strong computational skills, especially in computer-aided design and computer- aided engineering tools
- Ability to work independently, to plan and carry out complicated tasks
4. Required Skills:
- Communication: Good communication skills in terms of oral and written communications with students and faculty team.
- Teamwork: working as a group to push innovation or resolve challenges, With the emphasis on collaborative professional learning communities.
- Problem Solving: to be able to overcome both internal and external issues that arise in the classroom.
5. Rules and Responsibilities:
- Teaching and learning: Must be able to deliver classes for different levels of the mechanical engineering domains in the program.
- Contribute to a different levels of committees at the college and university levels that support the achievement of the program mission.
- Research engagement must be engaged in different research and scholarly activities related to the general area of mechanical engineering design and structural mechanics.
- Community engagement contributes to different community engagement activities organized by the university.
