Title: Internship and Career Development Officer
2. Reporting:
The Internship and Career Development Officer shall report to the Head of the Student Services Unit.
3. Responsibilities:
Responsibilities of the Internship and Career Development Officer:
3.1 Provide career information, advice, and guidance to current students at the Gulf University.
3.2 Place students with internship courses during the fall, spring, and summer semesters in collaboration with academic departments.
3.3 Advise students about any internship possibilities.
3.4 Liaise with existing internship partners, program team members, and quality assurance office to ensure client satisfaction and quality control.
3.5 Reach out to potential internship partners to strengthen the program.
3.6 To identify internship opportunities and act as a liaison officer, thus further contributing to the employability of these students.
3.7 Coordinate career related workshops with external firms.
3.8 Participate in coordination and organization of events such as the annual career fair.
3.9 Develop and maintain a collaborative relationship with academic departments and all college stakeholders.
3.10 Assist in the management and coordination of events whenever required.
3.11 Participate in other activities of Student Services unit.
3.12 Contribute to the development, revising policies and procedures of the Student Service unit.
3.13 Carry out any other task assigned by the University
4. Requirements:
4.1 In principle, the Internship and Career Development Officer is required to have the following necessary knowledge and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree (Minimum) from a recognized university
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in related field in higher education
- Knowledge of customer service /Public Relations.
- Ability to liaise proficiently on all levels both internally and externally
- Ability to relate to and interact with people from diverse cultural background.
4.2 Gulf University, further recognizes the following qualifications for nomination of the Alumni Officer position:
- Proficiency in written and verbal communication.
- Proficiency in computer skills and MS Office application programs.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
5. Nomination and Appointment:
The Internship and Career Development Officer shall be nominated and appointed by President of University subject to fulfilling the requirement
6. Terms of Office:
The term of office of the Internship and Career Development Officer shall be of two years renewable.
7. Confidentiality:
The Internship and Career Development Officer shall not reveal any confidential information related to Gulf University unless authorized by the University President/Council. S/he shall sign the ‘Confidentiality Statement’ when appointed.
