International Academic Collaboration is Essential for Advancing Bahrain’s Vision 2030 and Empowering Youth, says Prof. AlFiras Gulf University President, Professor Mohanad Al-Firas, highlighted the crucial role of international academic collaborations in enhancing students’ skills and preparing them to thrive in the global job market. He emphasized that such partnerships align with the university’s dedication to supporting sustainable development goals and advancing Bahrain’s Vision 2030. “Providing international educational opportunities for our students is essential to fostering a creative and innovative generation capable of overcoming challenges and is a fundamental component to our strategy to develop future leaders,” he said.

As a component of this initiative, Gulf University organized international educational visits for its students, including intensive programs in Italy and Russia. Students from the College of Law participated in the “Interdisciplinary Legal Negotiations Training Program,” held in collaboration with Luigi Vanvitelli University of Campania in Naples, Italy, from November 28 to December 6, 2024. The program was designed to improve students’ skills in negotiation and contract analysis within an international academic setting, enabling them to apply legal principles to a wide range of practical, real-world situations. Meanwhile, students from the College of Communication and Media Technology embarked on an educational trip to Chechen State Pedagogical University in Russia. The objective of the visit was to promote cultural and academic exchange, featuring scientific workshops and site visits to academic and media institutions; this provided students with valuable exposure to advanced technologies and expanded their cultural perspectives.

Dean of the College of Law, Dr. Firas Mohammed, accentuated the program’s importance in enhancing students’ professional competencies, underscoring the value of field-based education in preparing students for success in diverse, multicultural work environments. Dean of the College of Communication and Media Technology, Dr. Sherif Badran, further noted that the visit to Russia significantly strengthened students’ innovation and communication skills. He stated, “These initiatives empower students to develop their abilities and deepen their understanding of diverse academic environments, thereby enhancing their prospects for global scale.”

These international educational visits are key components of Gulf University’s strategy to promote field-based learning, in alignment with sustainable development goals, particularly those focused on quality education, global partnerships, and youth empowerment. Through such initiatives, the university aims to support Bahrain’s Vision 2030, which seeks to foster a knowledge-based economy and prepare generations capable of contributing to sustainable development both locally and globally. Gulf University continues to offer innovative educational opportunities that combine academic and practical elements, ensuring that its graduates are well-equipped to meet the demands of the global job market with expertise and professionalism.
