Mona Rashid Distinguished Recognition Bahraini Women's Day

Gulf University is proud to honor Professor, Chairperson of the Board of Directors and Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of Gulf University, Dr. Mona Rashid Al-Zayani, , for her distinguished recognition by the Supreme Council for Women during the 2024 Bahraini Women’s Day celebrations, held under the esteemed patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

Professor Dr. Mona Rashid Al-Zayani is a shining example of female leadership in higher education, recognized for her visionary approach and her ability to develop long-term strategic plans that effectively guide the university toward achieving its key objectives. Her strategy focuses on advancement of academic and research excellence while aligning with national initiatives, including Bahrain’s Vision 2030.

This recognition highlights her significant contributions to higher education and the empowerment of Bahraini women, positioning her as a role model of dedication and strategic leadership. The university emphasized that her leadership inspires both faculty and students, embodying a commitment to advancing education and enhancing the status of women in Bahrain. Her work aligns with core principles of sustainability, competitiveness, and equity outlined in Bahrain Vision 2030.

In her speech, Professor Dr. Mona Rashid Al-Zayani stated, “Bahraini women are invaluable partners in nation-building,” highlighting their essential role in societal development and education, which are fundamental to Bahrain Vision 2030. She extended her sincere gratitude to the Supreme Council for Women for the recognition, interpreting it as a tribute to the collective efforts of all Bahraini women striving to build a sustainable and progressive society.

The celebration, themed “Women: Worthy Partners in Nation-Building,” was held at the Bahrain National Theatre on Sunday, December 1, 2024, attended by prominent national and diplomatic figures. The annual Bahraini Women’s Day, established in 2008, aims to elevate the status women and highlight their role in shaping the nation’s future aspirations.
