Teaching & Learning Statement

Learning, for me, is a life-long and cradle-to-grave process. That being the case, I am partial to engaging students in learning as so doing teaches them how to learn independently in the future. Research-based learning is one of the most valuable tools through which students analyze and reflect on research findings, tools, and methods. My long experience taught me that the teachers who teach best are the ones who are dedicated to reflective practices and to ‘learning by doing.’ Teaching is not only in classrooms but also in out-of-classroom activities such as visits to industries. From such visits, students learn more about the industry and practice.

Experience

At least sixteen years of teaching and nine years of administrative work. During this period, I taught communication, journalism, and public relations at universities in different countries; I taught in Arabic and English, and I taught undergraduate and graduate students.

Research Interest

My research interests include public relations, communication, ethics, writing, and critical discourse studies.
