Gulf University Law Students on an Educational Visit to the House of Representatives

In line with its commitment to deepening students’ understanding of legal and political practices, the College of Law at Gulf University organized an important field trip to the House of Representatives, aimed at introducing students to the roles and functions of the legislative body in the country. This visit took place on the morning of Thursday, October 19, 2023.

Details: A delegation from Gulf University’s College of Law, led by Dr. Hisham Al-Osi, visited the House of Representatives in the Kingdom of Bahrain. This visit was part of the college’s initiatives to develop students’ practical skills and broaden their legal knowledge, especially concerning the real-world operations of legislative institutions.

During the visit, an introductory lecture was conducted by Dr. Shaikha Al-Alawi, covering several essential aspects, including the parliamentary role of the two houses, the mechanism of their sessions, and their main competencies. The lecture also outlined the basic requirements for parliamentary members, giving students an in-depth look into the legislative standards and regulations.

Such visits enhance students’ practical knowledge and encourage their engagement with public affairs. Through interactive sessions and questions raised during the lecture, students showed notable enthusiasm, expressing a desire for more events that allow them to understand real-life experiences and the challenges faced by decision-makers.
