Department of Mechanical Engineering

Overview

The department offers four programs: A Bachelor and Master of Science in mechanical Engineering and Bachelor and Master of Science in Industrial Engineering and Management. The Department is dedicated to excellence in teaching. Each of the two programs blends flexibility, depth, breadth, and hands-on-experience to prepare the students for a variety of educational and professional challenges. Graduates of our programs find employment in a variety of industries in areas of system design, manufacturing and management.

The department is a learning center that seeks to serve the society by educating students and prepare them for successful careers in mechanical engineering profession. Moreover it seeks to conduct high quality innovative research, interact with the community and industry through short courses, consultations and research resources.

Vision

In consistence with Gulf University and College of Engineering visions, the Mechanical Engineering department’s vision is to be distinguished as one of the best in the Mechanical Engineering sciences in the Gulf area.

Mission

Providing mechanical engineering students with engineering knowledge and skills at required standard, and the willingness and ability for continues learning, engineering analysis, self development and research motivation to serve the society.

Architectural and Interior Design Engineering Department

Overview

The Architectural Engineering Department offers two Programs; B.Sc. in Architectural Engineering: and M.Sc. Architectural Engineering.  The Architectural Program is intended to:
Provide a comprehensive education to students in order to endow them with broad-based knowledge on social, cultural, historical and environmental aspects of the built-environment and to equip them with aesthetic, intellectual, technological and managerial skills in generating design proposals to produce built-environments, and to prepare students for successful careers in Architecture ;
To facilitate engagement in research and scholarly activities which may achieve national and international recognition, and to disseminate knowledge in order to advance architecture in education and practice; and
To maintain and continue to enrich the program itself by advancing the quality of education in architecture that conforms to the international standards set by well known accreditors of architectural programs.

Vision

In consistence with Gulf University and College of Engineering visions, the Architectural and Interior Design Engineering Department’s vision is to “Move the architectural program to be on the top tier of architectural engineering programs in Arab Gulf and International Countries, by competing decisively for the best faculty and students ."

Mission

The mission of Architectural Engineering Program at Gulf University is:

• To provide a high quality Architectural Engineering education through teaching, research, and development and to provide services to the local community and the gulf community.
•  To have a commitment to lifelong learning toward contributed professional development.
• To facilitate engagement in research and scholarly activities to achieve national and international recognition, and to disseminate knowledge in order to advance architecture in education and practice.

Department of Civil Engineering

Overview

• Civil Engineering is the oldest   branches of engineering and the most attached to human life and its evolution through the ages, has begun since the ancient man  has  lived in   caves  and use   tree trunks to cross streams and rivers.
  The Pyramids of Giza in Egypt, the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, the Great Wall of China , the irrigation canals in the city of Nineveh, and drainage channels hidden in the city of Muha Njawra in Pakistan  is evidence  and   parameters of the achievements of the engineers of these peoples.
• In our age, the British Parliament buildings , the Eiffel Tower and the Golden Bridge commentator became the symbols of these cities and landmarks   which make the people feel proud of.
  The next decades,   will be the most creative, demanding, and rewarding of times for civil engineers because of the large increase in population and the substantial technical progress and the complexities and problems of environment , water and energy.  .
• Civil engineers are in the forefront of technology. They are the leading users of sophisticated high-tech  products - applying the very latest concepts in computer-aided design (CAD) during design, construction, project scheduling, and cost control.
• Civil engineers are problem solvers, meeting the challenges of Pollution, traffic congestion, drinking water and energy needs, urban redevelopment, and community planning.

Given the comprehensiveness and complexity of the post  of civil engineer,  we have developed a curriculum for the bachelor stage to achieve these totalitarian and to make the student have adequate and balanced science for the requirements of Civil Engineering.

Vision

The department of civil engineering strives to graduate highly qualified and competent engineers, who are socially responsible, professionals, and lifelong learners to maintain nationally recognized research and provide quality professional and community service to Kingdom of Bahrain and the gulf region

Mision

The department of civil engineering mission is to enable their participants to develop progressively the capability to address with confidence the kinds of problems which practising Civil Engineers meet at work. They are subject to continuing improvement, so as to meet industry development requirements, together with the wider responsibilities of the engineer to society and the environment

Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering

Overview

The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the College of Engineering at the University of the Gulf where it was created with the establishment of the college in 2001, and has continued since that time in the performance of his duties different from the graduation cohort succession of engineers in the disciplines of electrical engineering and electronic to run these groups in all sectors of production and services and to effectively participate. The department participated in the development movement and development in society, also contributed in the preparation of the necessary teachers for the educational process through the post graduate program , and contribute to department in the provision of services of scientific and advisory services to the community and solve technical problems in the areas of competence, and shall conduct the program of scientific and research department faculty with high efficiency in different disciplines. The department contains laboratories fitted with modern equipment and keep pace with scientific development in the world.

The scientific research of the basic pillars in the activities of Department of Electrical and electronic, in addition to the teaching effort, the faculty members take it upon themselves to work actively in scientific research, and this effort is clear from the completion of several research published in scientific journals and conferences.

Department mission is to provide academic teaching excellence in the field of electrical and electronic engineering to contribute to community service and produce graduates able to continue to learn and implement superior engineering expertise, depending on the amount of information and practical experience gained through their studies.
