Tuition & Fee Structure
Undergraduate Programs:
- Fees for one credit hour are BD 100.
Master's and doctoral programs:
- Fees for one credit hour are140 BD.
- University Facility Charge: 25 BD per semester for all stages
- Books Fees: These fees are determined according to the courses that the student register in.
- Placement Test Fees: 25 BD per exam.
- Thesis Examination Fees: 450 BD for the Master and 750 BD for the PhD.
Fees Payment procedures.
- The application fee, BD 25, should be paid when applying the for university.
- 75 BD should be paid for placement test as a charge for three tests according to the decision of the Admission and Registration Committee is also non-refundable.
- The new student should pay a sum of money not less than BD 200 of the tuition fees after the completion of admission procedures which will be deducted from the tuition fees of the first term.
- After the selection of courses in coordination with the academic advisor and the Registrar in the Admissions Department, the student course schedule will be issued and he/she has to pay the remaining fees before attending the classes:
- All or half of the tuition fees.
- Services fees 25 BD per semester.
- The student will not be allowed to attend the classroom in the following cases:
- not-paying half of the fees before attending study.
- not-paying the rest of the fees after the add and drop period.
- The students has to pay the remaining amount of the tuition fees before the mid-semester exams otherwise, he/she will be prevented from sitting for the exams.
- The account department in the university issues the exam entrance card after the student’s completion of the fees payment procedures.
- The student should present what proves his/her completion of payment for the semester in order to get the exam entrance card.
- The student is not permitted to enter the exam hall without the exam entrance card issued by the accounts department to fulfill the above item.
- Additional fees will be charged for the students who delayed in paying the tuition according to the regulations adopted by the account department.
- Sponsored students should attach a letter of approval by the party which will pay the fees when applying to the university and should complete the payment procedures in coordination with the accounts department before attending the classroom.
Replacement fees:
The university issues statements, certificates, academic records and university card for one time. In the case of losing any of them or re-order them for any purpose the student should pay fees according to the Regulations adopted by the account department at the university.
Recovery of Fees
- If the student drops one or all courses before the beginning of the study, he/she will receive back 90% of the tuition fees paid.
- If the student drops one or all courses within the first week of the add and drop period, he can receive back 75% of the tuition fees paid, or the whole sum will be kept to be used for registration in the next studying semesters and he/she will not have the right in requesting the fees if he/she does not register in the following semesters.
- If the student drops one or all courses in the second week (last) of the add and drop period, he/she can receive back half of the tuition fees paid or 75% of the fees can be kept to be used for the purpose of registering in the next semesters he/she will not have the right in requesting the fees if he/she does not register in the following semesters.
- If the student drops one or all courses after the end of the add and drop period, he/she cannot get back any of the tuition fees and he/she should pay all the tuition fees for that semester.
Additional features: Scholarships and Awards
- Springing from Gulf University interests to promote the spirit of scientific excellence among students, the university provided a number of scholarships for the new enrolled students as well as for already enrolled students who were academically outstanding during their undergraduate stage. The number of these scholars and the bases for their distribution among students will be determined at the beginning of each semester as approved by the University Council.
- Gulf University offers a reward for outstanding students who are listed among the honor list and those who get high grades (A+) in each course separately including the reduction of the tuition fees that equals 10% for the same number of the courses in the next semester in condition that the student did not get any kind of reduction in the tuition fees.
- Gulf University administration in coordination with some of the Islamic and commercial banks has provided opportunities to have study loans on concessional terms.
