Overview:
The E-Learning Center has been established to improve the learning process and to assure its high quality through the usage of technology. It also offers an electronic learning median that supplements the regular classes, as well as providing the students with a variety of skills in different subject areas. This leads to the enhancement of the students’ abilities and their thinking skills. Moreover, it fulfills the students learning needs and continuously supplement them with the appropriate learning resources through the internet regardless to time and place constrains. Finally, it allows the student-teacher interaction in different timings.
Vision
The center aims at developing an advanced e-learning environment, through which various experiences are offered to students and faculty members to supply the labor market with graduates who are capable of competing, thinking and learning independently and continuously to serve the community in a range of fields.
Mission
The e-learning center’s mission is to utilize the e-learning system according to the courses’ requirements, the students and faculty’s needs. This is to be done according to the e-learning quality standards to boost the students’ analytical thinking skills, their ability to be continuous learners and to assure the continuous improvement of the faculty members’ skills in designing, producing and managing e-courses to promote the quality of the university services to both the students and the community.
Objectives
The E-Learning Center aims to:
- Establishing an e-learning system in the university and setting its policies and procedures to ensure high quality
- Spreading the e-learning culture among the university personal, faculty members and students
- Developing the faculty members’ skills to ensure their efficiency in using the e-learning system and designing their own e-courses
- Developing the students’ skills of using the e-learning system and e-courses, as well as identifying ways of technical support
- Setting policies and procedures essential for the quality of the e-learning system in the university
- Spreading the e-learning culture in the community and mutually exchange information between academic institutions in the e-learning field and supporting research in the field
